Rimsky-Korsakov Estate
Lyubensk, Plus district, Pskov, Russia
Description:
The estate of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov is located in the park of the village of Lyubensk. The estate and the entire park ensemble are a monument of federal significance.
At the end of the XIX century, a park was laid out and a manor was built. These data are taken on the basis of the lifespan of birches and fir trees planted in the park, which are now more than a hundred years old. There are trees and early planting - 160-year-old linden, ash, oaks. In 1967, the estate of N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov became a museum.
It is worth noting that there is a manor in the north of Lyubensk. In the park there are three reservoirs - an oval, mirror pond and a pond "Ozerzo", which has irregular borders. Park ensemble - entrance roads, manor house, oval pond, shrubs on the shore. All components of the complex are devoid of symmetry. The estate has strict features, but the trees planted by the main house soften the impression a little. Rimsky-Korsakov praised the view from the house to the lake, the flowering garden, and the hill on which the estate is located. The favorite place of the composer was a secluded place under the linden - a bench and a frame of shrubs.
The estate plot collected on its territory hundreds of alleys of lilacs, shrubs of peonies, apple trees, birches, oaks and much more. All this creates an amazing atmosphere, filling the air with beautiful aromas. All the balconies and apartments of the Rimsky-Korsakov house had floristic decoration of branches and flowers, making them attractive to the eye.
