About the company:
The only museum of the architect-restorer in Russia is the memorial museum-apartment of Yuri Spegalsky, whose activities are connected with two cities: Pskov and Leningrad.
In 1937-1938, he performed repairs in a high-mounted way, without forests on six churches; in the 1950-1960s, he took part in the restoration of St. Isaac’s, Peter and Paul’s, Smolny Cathedrals, the Alexander Column and other architectural monuments.
In 1986, through the efforts of Olga Konstantinovna Arshakuni (1908-1991) - the widow of Yu.P. Spegalsky and Pskov Museum-Reserve, the Memorial Museum-Apartment of Yu.P. Spegalsky, a researcher of medieval architecture, architect-restorer, creator of Pskov restoration workshops (1946), artist, master of decorative and applied arts was opened.
In his office there is a library with rare publications on art, history and local history. The doctoral thesis of the American scientist Larry V. Kotren “Y.P. Spegalsky and ancient stone architecture of Pskov” is also stored here.
