Historical reconstruction

Historical reconstruction is a popular hobby in the modern world. Reconstruction is also a way of understanding the past. It is difficult to talk about great battles, when he never hit a man with an axe in the leg, or did not get a spear in the kidney, falling in pain. It is difficult to talk about medieval life or to talk about the motives and behavior of our ancestors, if you do not live for several days in similar conditions.

In my opinion, the most interesting is the medieval part of the history of our city: the birth of Pskov, Princess Olga, Pskov in the era of the Vikings, the battles with the Livonian Germans, the Pskov Veche republic ...

In telling me about these amazing times, my hobby is historical reconstruction. In Stary Izborsk in early July, the Isaborg Festival of Historical Reconstruction of the Early Middle Ages takes place, of which I have been a regular participant since 2013.
