Pskov’s Short Guide from Moscow

Tour programme:

08:05 – arrival of train No. 010 at Pskov railway station. Meeting with a guide inside the railway station building (central entrance) with a sign "I am PSKOV".

08:30 – 09:15 – Breakfast in the cafe.

09:15 – transfer to the hotel, delivery of things to the storage room. Free time.

According to international standards, check-in to the hotel room is possible only after 14:00. If you want to stay in the room immediately after breakfast, it is possible to purchase the service "early check-in" (availability of rooms and cost please specify when booking).

11:30 – 14:00 – walking tour of the Kremlin and the center of Pskov.

Pskov is a city with a centuries-old history, which we want not only to tell you, but also to show you! As part of the tour, you will visit the Kremlin, the Trinity Cathedral, the Dovmont city, a walk along the fortress walls along the embankments of the Pskov and Velika rivers, as well as a tour of the Pskov temples of the XV – XVI centuries and monuments to Princess Olga, Skobar and Two Captains.

Note: on a tour of Pskov from the hotel you get yourself. Meeting of the group on Lenin Square near the monument to V.I. Lenin (plate "I am PSKOV").

14:00 free time. Dinner on your own.

Note: If desired, you can join the walking tour "Zapskov fairy tales". The cost is 350 rubles (up to 25.04.21), 450 rubles (26.04.21-03.10.21). The tour begins at 15:00 from the monument to V.I. Lenin (Lenin Square, 1).

11:30 – departure for an excursion to Izborsk and Pechora.

Near Pskov, just 30 kilometers away, is the village of Stary Izborsk. By the way, in the Middle Ages, Izborsk was a large city through which trade routes passed, and was one of the 10 oldest cities of Russia (the first mention of Izborsk in the chronicle dates back to 862). 20 kilometers from Izborsk, on the very border of Russia, there is a pearl of the Pskov land - the Holy Dormition Pskov-Pechersk Monastery. It is the only monastery in the whole of Russia, where the service has been going on continuously since 1473. The monastery operated both in the years of Soviet power and during the Great Patriotic War. But our monastery is not only a holy monastery, but also a fortress that fought from the time of Ivan the Terrible to the time of Peter I.

11:30 – 12:00 – transfer to Izborsk (30 km). Track tour.

12:00 – 14:00 – excursion to Izborsk (Izborsk fortress of XIV-XVI centuries, Slovenian keys).

14:00 – 14:30 – moving to Pechora (20 km). Track tour.

14:30 – 15:15 – lunch in Pechora.

15:30 – 17:15 – visit to the Pskov-Pechersk monastery. Tour, free time.

17:30 – Departure to Pskov (52 km).

18:30 – arrival in Pskov, transfer to the railway station.

19:30 – departure of the company train No. 010 Pskov – Moscow.
