Operatta Theatre

Pyatigorsk, Stavropol Territory, Kirov Avenue, 17

About the company:

The Russian Operetta Theater, located in the city of Pyatigorsk, is called the Stavropol State Regional Operetta Theater. It was founded in 1939 as a musical comedy theater, and the current name it received only in 1997.

The place where the theater is now located at the beginning of the XX century was occupied by a large estate of the family of the famous horse breeder T. Sultan-Girey. On it were service buildings, outbuildings and houses, drowning in the bright greenery of trees.

The repertoire of the theater is focused on classical and modern operetta composers - Kalman, Strauss, Offenbach, Legar. Every day more and more musicals and musical comedies appear. About 30 children's plays and 150 musical productions were performed during the existence of the theater. In 2009, for his seventieth anniversary, a book was published.

Permanent concertmasters of the theater, together with the main specialists, have been honing all premiere performances for more than thirty years, bringing them to perfection. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, veterans of the theater work in auxiliary workshops, who, completing their career, do not want to leave it.
