Sofrujin waterfalls are a little-known landmark of Dombai. They are located in the depths of the gorge of the Amanauz River and are the highest waterfalls in the mountains around the village.
Three large waterfalls breaking off the slopes of the Sofrujin glacier. On the slopes of the surrounding mountains there are many more small waterfalls (up to 40 meters high). And in the distance you can see small waterfalls in the upper reaches of the Amanauz River, right near the glacier.
Waterfalls are best visited in the middle of summer - then the streams are more full-flowing and impressive. The first waterfall is quite modest, although, undoubtedly, beautiful and peculiar. The second Sufruju cascade reaches 100 meters in height, and rainbow splashes and loud noise are carried away.
If desired, you can swim in both waterfalls in the summer - the streams flowing down the sun-heated mountain become warm and pleasant themselves.
