Park "Flower" in the city of Pyatigorsk

d. Pyatigorsk, Kirov Avenue

Description:

Park "Flower" is the main place for walks in the resort of Pyatigorsk. It is here that the pools, the Diana Grotto and the famous Lermontov Gallery are located.

The park dates back to the twenties of the XIX century, when a water hospital was arranged in Pyatigorsk. It was here that the great Russian poet M.Y. Lermontov visited the Nikolaev baths, with whose name Pyatigorsk became inextricably associated. The Nikolaev Bath Pavilion, now called Lermontovsky, faces directly to the station.

All buildings in the park are wooden due to the fact that in order to preserve the local ecology during the arrangement of the mineral resort in the park, the construction of stone buildings was prohibited. The main attractions of the park are, of course, local pavilions-buffets, where you can drink healing water.

In the park there is a sculpture of Kisa Vorobyaninov, the hero of the legendary book “12 chairs”. By the will of the authors, it was in the Pyatigorsk "Flower" that the unsuccessful hero tried to beggar, posing as a former deputy of the Legislative Assembly.
