House-Museum M.Y. Lermontov

The house, which is now the Lermontov Museum, is located on the territory of the museum-reserve in the city of Pyatigorsk. This is the only monument to M.Y. Lermontov on the territory of Russia, which has been completely preserved and was able to reach the present day in its original form. The situation of the XIX century is completely recreated, personal belongings of the poet are presented. In this small house with modest white walls and under a reed roof, Lermontov spent the last two months of his life (May 14 – July 15, 1841), it was from here that he was escorted on his last journey, and it was here that the Russian poet wrote his last poems, which later became great literary masterpieces.
