About the company:
Pyatigorsk Electric Networks is one of the oldest energy companies in Russia. On August 24, 2003, it celebrated its 100th anniversary. In 1903, the White Coal hydroelectric power plant on the Podkumok River began to operate, and in 1913 the Central Thermal Power Plant in Pyatigorsk was built, and in the same 1913, for the first time in the world, a parallel work of a diesel station and a hydroelectric power station was carried out. This was the prototype of future energy systems. At the site of the Central Thermal Power Plant, the production base of Pyatigorsk Electric Grids OJSC is currently located - one of the largest municipal energy enterprises of the Stavropol Territory and the only municipal enterprise in Russia operating on the Federal Wholesale Electric Power Market (FOREM). In 1983 (on the day of the 80th anniversary), the management and staff of Pyatigorsk Electric Grids OJSC organized the museum "First Steps of Electricity".
