The Museum of Friendship of Peoples

Established in 1987 as a branch of the Pskov Museum-Reserve, it is located in the building of the former church of the early 1920s in the city center.

The exposition "History of the Pitalovsky Territory" (dedicated to the history of the region, relations between the Russian and Latvian peoples).

Exhibitions: “Play, ancient gramophone...” (exhibits: the first music boxes, domestic and foreign gramophones, as well as records acquaint visitors with the history of sound recording of the late XIX - early XX century), “The land in the years of bourgeois Latvia 1920-40” (details the life of Pitalovsky - Yauklatgalsky - Abrensky district in 1920-1940. The visitors are presented with documents, things and photographs that tell in detail about the socio-economic situation of the region, the spiritual, cultural and intellectual life of that time. Special attention is paid to the service of countrymen in the Latvian army. Ancient photographs of Pitalov of the 1920s – 30s show the viewer the changes that have occurred in urban life over the past hundred years.
