Girvas volcano

- 09.00 Meeting with the driver at the railway station in Petrozavodsk.
The place and time of the meeting are agreed with the manager when booking.

- Get in the jeeps.

- Introductory tour of the city.

- 10.00 Departure from Petrozavodsk on the route.

- 10.30 Short stop at Mount Sampo (about 5 minutes walk to the top). From the mountain there is a magnificent panorama of forests and islands of Lake Conchesero.
This hill was so named after filming in these places in 1959, the film of the same name based on the Karelian epic Kaleval, where Sampo is a wonderful mill, a one-of-a-kind magical object with magical power and is a source of happiness, prosperity and abundance.

- 11.30 Visit to the first Russian resort "Martialnye Vody".
Tasting water from underground sources.

- 12:30 Girvas village. Inspection of the existing Paleozero hydroelectric power station located on the slope of the ancient Girvas volcano.

This is where the off-road part of the route begins. Preliminary instruction on safety and basics of driving in off-road conditions.

- Tourists drive. A driver-instructor is present in each car and monitors the safety on the route.

- Turn on all-wheel drive and start driving along the forest road. We overcome off-road areas, wetlands of the lake, sand quarries.

- 14.00 Lunch-picnic in field conditions. Meat on coals with vegetables and hot tea at the stake with gingerbread - will help to regain strength.

- 15.00 Continue moving in a given direction, improve off-road driving skills, make photo stops in interesting places: an abandoned airfield with a runway, as well as Por-threshold - the location of the filming of the modern version of the film "And the dawns are quiet here".

- 17.00 Visit to the reserve "Kivach, inspection of the Kivach waterfall on the Suna River - one of the largest Karelian rivers. The height of the waterfall is about 11 meters (water falls from several ledges). It is the third largest plain waterfall in Europe (after the Rhine and the Greater Janiskengas Falls in the Murmansk region). We will visit the arboretum and the museum of Karelian nature.

- 18.00 Departure to Petrozavodsk.

- 19.00 Return to Petrozavodsk.
