10 Wonders of Karelia. Tour around Ladoga

1 day:

06:00 – Bus service at St. Petersburg, Ligovsky Prospekt 10 (hotel “October”, metro Square of the Uprising).

06:30 – Departure from Ligovsky Avenue 10

07:00 – Stop at the metro “Dybenko Street”.

9:00 - Stop in the complex "Farm estate", during which there is an opportunity to drink aromatic tea on herbs and relax from the road.

10:30 - Visit one of the most impressive monasteries of our region - Holy Trinity Alexander Svir Monastery

Once the monastery was called the “Northern Lavra”, as it owned vast lands and was subject to 27 monasteries and the desert of the region.

Alexander Svir Monastery is known far beyond Russia and is one of the recognized "places of power". Thousands of pilgrims and tourists come here to see the incredible beauty of the monastery, learn its rich history and, of course, worship the relics of St. Alexander Svirsky.

The monastery will be interesting from a religious, architectural and historical point of view.

The monastery has its own tea house. Cakes, bread, fruit drinks - everything is made according to ancient recipes from natural products.

16:00 – Visit to the Kivach reserve and the waterfall of the same name

Kivach Falls is the second largest, after the Rhine, plain waterfall in Europe.

Located on the Suna River in the central part of Karelia. Around it is a natural reserve of the same name. Kivach waterfall is incredibly beautiful and majestic. Compressed by basaltic rocks, the waters of the Suna River from an eight-meter height fall down in a heavy cast stream, forming a powerful, in shreds of foam, whirlpool and creating an impressive noise.

18:00 – Visit to the first Russian resort “Martial Waters” and the Church of the Apostle Peter, which is a branch of the National Museum of the Republic of Karelia

The first balneological resort, founded by Peter I himself, is famous for its mineral waters and curative mud, as well as an interesting history of its foundation.

This story is connected with the Konchezer copper smelting plant, the ruins of which you will pass.

 

 

20:00 – arrival in Petrozavodsk. Hotel accommodation. Free time.

 

 

Day 2:

07:30-08:30 - Breakfast at the hotel, eviction, gathering groups of hotels

Depending on the selected hotel, you will be offered a continental breakfast or buffet.

Attention! In hotels of the category "Standard" breakfast is not included in the price, but each hotel on the list has a refrigerator, kettle and microwave, which are either in the room or in a separate room - kitchen.

After breakfast and eviction from the room, we will have a small sightseeing tour of the city.

09:00 - Sightseeing tour of Petrozavodsk

During the sightseeing bus and walking tour, you will learn the history of the city, which began in 1703, when Peter the Great ordered to lay an arms factory on the banks of Onega at the mouth of the Lososinka River. Then the factory and barracks of builders and workers were called Petrozavodskaya Sloboda.

10:00 – Visit to the Shungit Center
Shungite is a mysterious mineral whose origin is still not fully understood, although the healing properties have long been proven by scientists.

We will make a stop at the Shungit Center, where you will be told all the secrets of the mysterious mineral and how it is mined and how it can be useful for you.

14:00 - Passage through the most beautiful place of Ladoga - the colorful bay of Kiryavalakhti

This amazing corner of Karelian nature, which is probably not equal in the entire territory of the Northern Ladoga. High granite rocks abruptly break into the depths of Kiryavalahti, the northernmost bay of Ladoga.

Kiryavalahti is very similar to the Norwegian fjord.

15:00 - Visit the Ruskeala Mountain Park and the Marble Canyon (an excursion with a local guide is included in the program price)

One of the most impressive sights of Karelia in its time took a lot of time and effort to become the same mountain park Ruskeala. Marble was once mined here.
You will be guided through the galleries and caves and shown the most beautiful viewing areas

Independently:

The path of trolls is a rope over the water surface of a marble lake, 400 meters long, along marble rocks.

Excursion route through the galleries and caves in the depths of the marble mountain - "Underground Ruskeala".

17:30 - Transfer to the famous waterfalls on the Tohmajoki River, Ahvenkoski Falls.

18:30 - Transfer to Sortavala

We will drive through the central streets and you will see some unusual architectural sights for which this city is so famous, and our guide will tell the most interesting facts about it.

23:00 – Approximate time of return to St. Petersburg

The first stop is the Ozerki metro. The final stop is the Metro Rebellion Square.
