7.30 Departure from St. Petersburg from Kazan Cathedral on a comfortable bus.

10.30 Stop at the fortress of Korela

The place of detention of the family of Emelyan Pugachev, Decembrists and other famous historical figures.

13.00 Lutheran Kirch

During the tour, we will see the Lutheran Church, where according to legends the epic “Kalevala” was written. Around this building there are many legends and stories that you will hear.

14.00 Arrival in Sortavala, lunch

Arriving in the city of Sortavala, our guide will conduct a bus tour for you.

During which you can see the main attractions of the city.

In the cafe of the city, a lunch will be organized for our group (if desired, an additional fee is 400 rubles).

Inspection of Sortavala

It is the center of the northern ladoga, an ancient city founded by the Swedes. During the tour you can see its main attractions and architectural structures, famous historical monuments. On the first day of the program, we look at all the sights of the city of Sortavala during a trail tour, and on the second day there will be an opportunity to get acquainted with them more closely.

Balms of Karelia

If you wish, you will have the opportunity to visit the store with branded Karelian tinctures and balms, known for their special properties.

15.15 Visit to Achinkoski Falls

You will have to walk along the suspended bridges over the seething waterfalls of Akhinkoski and touch the dark waters of the turbulent Karelian river Tokhmayoki, take a lot of cool selfies and make a wish on the "bridge of desires", visit the open-air thematic exhibition "Kalevala" and the filming places of the famous films "A Zory here are quiet" and "Dark world", as well as see the hut of a hermit fisher (payment additionally - 200 rubles).

16.00 Arrival in the Ruskeala Mountain Park

Upon arrival, you will get acquainted with the park, where you will see the hidden corners of the former marble quarry, walk along the mysterious galleries and tracks. The guide of the Ruskeala Mountain Park will take you to its most interesting places, conduct a tour and tell you about the history of mining, its myths and legends, show mysterious galleries and tell you what you can do here the next day in your free time (excursion at will).

20.00 Arrival at the hotel

After all the excursions, we check in at the hotel. All our hotels have only amenities (shower, toilet) in the rooms.

08:00 Breakfast

09.30 Kiryawalahti Bay

After breakfast, on the way to Ruskeala, we will visit the northernmost bay of Ladoga and one of the most beautiful places in Karelia. To many, it resembles the Scandinavian fjord, as it is known for stunning views of Ladoga skerries. On the shore of the bay is the former dacha of the apothecary - a monument of Finnish architecture.

Departure to the mountain park "Ruskeala"

On the second day in the mountain park Ruskeala will be a lot of free time. You can rest and relax here. Walk through the marble alleys, visit the “Italian quarry”, see the abandoned marble factory and much more.

11:00 Free time at Ruskeala

And if you want, you can ride over the marble lake and between the cliffs of the Marble Canyon on a troll (zip-line), visit master classes in the manufacture of amulets and a craft workshop, and take advantage of other entertainment of the park.

Boat riding on the lake

If you have free time and the desire to ride a boat on the emerald lake, you can do it (available from June to October, paid locally if desired). Slow walks on the purest Karelian Lake is probably the most romantic way to relax in Ruskeala.

Visit to the underground route

The novelty is a new underground route passing under a mountain park. There you will be told about the history of these underground labyrinths and you will see not only the mysterious galleries, but also the famous underground lake with its illumination. This route is recognized in 2017 as the best route in Russia! (the cost of the excursion is 1320 rubles, if desired)

14.00 Sightseeing tour of the city of Sortavala

During this walking or bus tour (depending on the weather) you will learn the history of this ancient city founded by the Swedes. You will learn a lot about what you saw on the first day of our program.

Vakkosalmi Park and Kuhavuori Mountain

Two interesting sights of the city of Sortavala, where love to come connoisseurs of beautiful views and excellent photos (visit at will and if you have time).

Visit to the Ladoga Museum

One of the most interesting places in Sortavala, where various exhibits of antiquity and modernity related to Lake Ladoga are collected. Ancient household items of local residents, finds that were brought ashore, military marine exhibits and much more (visit at will, cost 100 rubles).

Visit to the Kronid Gogolev Museum

After a sightseeing tour with our guide, you will have free time in which you can visit the Kronid Gogolev Museum. The museum is famous for wooden paintings carved by Kronid Gogolev, some of them are stored in private collections of Germany, Japan, the government of the Russian Federation (if desired, paid extra).

15:00 Lunch

After all the excursions, before returning to St. Petersburg, we offer to dine in one of the cafés. Sortavala (if desired - a surcharge of 400 rubles).

Visit to the company store trout farm

17.00 Visit to the museum-bunker "Mountain of Filin"

On the way back, if desired, you can visit the museum in the rock, where the bunker of the Finnish army used to be located, and now there is an interesting military museum (an additional 300 rubles).

18.00 Departure to St. Petersburg

The estimated time of arrival is 23.00 (metro station Prospect Enlightenment).
