Here are the magical marble lakes. Until the middle of the XIX century, decorative marbles were broken in these quarries to decorate churches and palaces of St. Petersburg, fountains of Petrodvorets, columns of Tsarskoye Selo and Gatchina. Ruskeala Mountain Park is a unique complex monument of nature and the history of mining. The pearl of the Mountain Park is the Marble Canyon. The banks of the canyon, vertically towering above the emerald surface of the water, are permeated with surface and underwater tunnels, tracks and mines. By water on a fun boat you can get into mysterious and alluring grottoes and galleries.
