"Reserve region" (with a visit to the island of Kizhi)

- Meeting of the group at the railway station of Petrozavodsk near the carriage of your train (guide with a sign "Karelia").

Attention! The group can also come immediately to Kondopoga (train No. 092 Moscow-Murmansk, arrival at 10:38).

By comfortable bus we go to the small Karelian town of Kondopoga (45 km).

- For first impressions and natural mysteries - welcome to Girvas - a unique geological object, the oldest (about 2 billion years) crater of a volcano in Karelia!!! You will see a section of more than 20 lava flows with a capacity of up to 32 m and fossilized volcanic "bombs", including gas voids. Do not forget the video camera to create proof that you have visited a real volcano.

- Now our way lies to the mighty old giant - the Kivach waterfall!

The famous poet and the first governor of our region Gavrila Romanovich Derzhavin talentedly sang one of the most striking sights of Karelia. “A mountain of diamonds falls from the heights with four rocks.”

Under the noise of the bubbling stream, it was time to learn the ancient Karelian legend about the emergence of the largest East European waterfall and get acquainted with the national reserve and the nature museum. You want more riddles? They're very close. In the arboretum grows a grove of Karelian birch. The owner of the most expensive, amazing, “marble” wood in the world, she is a legend for scientists in the XXI century.

We begin to get acquainted with the sights of Kondopog. During a walk around the city we will see the Ice Palace, which has no equal in the whole north-west, the solemn and majestic Palace of Arts. Be sure to stop at the musical clock-carillons (a unique belfry brought from Holland). Under the magical sounds of 23 northern bells, we make a wish, and it will come true.

We will visit the kennel of sled dogs and meet cute HASCI. Northern pets will be happy to pose for a photo in pleasant company.

Organ concert and excursion in the Palace of Arts of Kondopoga.

Visit the mysterious king of musical instruments - organ and plunge into the world of harmony of sounds.

Welcome aboard the unique sailboat Yakutsk.

This is an exact copy of the ship that participated in the Great Northern Expedition in the Bering Strait in 1728. Dub-sloop was specially built for the filming of the historical film "First", which took place in Karelia.

Today we are pioneers and in our expedition we will learn about selfless patriots and travelers Vitus Bering, Vasily and Tatiana Pronchchiev, Semyon Chelyuskin and the Laptev brothers, learn how to knit sea knots and admire the beauty of the Onega skerries.

During the water cruise we will admire not only Lake Onega, but also numerous islands - Kiga skerries. And here we are – a temple complex, built almost without a single nail.

We will learn about all its secrets when inspecting the ensemble of the Kizhsky Pogost, visit the estate of a Zaonezh peasant and one of the oldest wooden churches in Russia - the Church of the Resurrection of Lazarus, rumored to have the ability to heal all ailments. You will also have a unique opportunity to visit the Church of the Transfiguration, opened after a long restoration work.

Duration of the tour: about 6 hours. Time spent on Kizhi Island is 3 hours.

Upon returning to the mainland, a late lunch in a cafe (buffet).

We will make a few memorable photo-stops at the gallery of original compositions from Finland, Sweden, Germany, France, etc. (the only open-air museum of modern avant-garde sculpture in the world) and a monument to the founder of Petrozavodsk - Peter I. We will see a piece of the starry sky of Neubrandenburg and ask for something cherished from the UHA on the Tree of Desire. At 17:30 we will take you to the railway station of Petrozavodsk (groups following from / through St. Petersburg).
