Rostov regional academic youth theater

Rostov Regional Academic Youth Theatre (ROAMT) is a theater in Rostov-on-Don, the former Lenin Komsomol Rostov Theatre.

Beautiful, like a fabulous palace, the building of the theater was built in 1899. The auditorium of the theater has excellent acoustics, during the construction of its walls, an ancient method was used - amphorae with necks open into the hall are embedded under the ceiling. The floor of the hall, with the help of jacks, could be brought to a horizontal position, which was used, for example, when organizing balls and other crowded entertainment events.

In different years, different theaters existed in the building: Theater of Working Youth (TRAM), Rostov Comedy Theater, Youth Drama Theater named after Lenin Komsomol, Rostov Theater of Youth.

In 1997, the theater became Academic, and in 2001 it received the name Rostov Regional Academic Youth Theater. Today, the theater is famous for its strongest troupe, which includes seven honored artists of Russia.
