About the company:

On December 16, 1899, the magnificent theater opened. Everything here was unique, the love and warmth of the creators of the theater was felt in everything. The beautiful acoustics of the auditorium were achieved thanks to the precisely calculated shape and volume, as well as the use of an ancient method - amphorae with necks open in the hall were embedded in the walls under the ceiling. The “Amos” heating system worked: air ducts were arranged in the walls, thanks to which one small fireplace reliably heated the entire grandiose room. The floor of the auditorium with the help of jacks could be made horizontal - for example, if necessary, hold a crowded ball in the building, which took place at the opening of the building. The only case in the history of world art was that its creator, architect Nikolai Durbakh, also played on the stage of the theater. The Youth Theatre has a long history. In 1929, the Theatre of Working Youth (TRAM) settled in the building of the theater, and a few months later, a graduate of the Moscow Theatre Institute (later GITIS), director Anna Nesterova founded the Theatre of Young Spectators. Her premiere production is considered a play for children "Mowgli". The Theatre was founded by director A. Nesterova, a graduate of the Moscow Theatre Institute (later GITIS). In the recent history of the theater, bright pages were written by directors Arthur Haikin, Yuri Eremin, Vyacheslav Gvozdkov. Since 1985, the artistic director of the theater is Vladimir Chigishev. He came here when the reconstruction of the building began in 1983 on Freedom Square. The theater experienced a second birth. Its area has more than doubled, thanks to the increment of production workshops, grimouring, small and experimental scenes.
