Valley of the river Manych

Rostov region, Orel district, Orlovsky p., Chapaevsky 102, Rostov reserve

Description:

The Manych Valley in the lowland of the same name carries the waters of the Manych River, rushing to the Caspian Sea. In the Rostov region on the territory of the valley there is a beautiful lake Manych-Gudilo.

Conventionally, the valley is divided into two parts - the northern, which does not reach the Caspian Sea and the southeastern. These two parts differ dramatically from each other in the landscape. In its northern half, there are more and more high sloping shores, with numerous lakes and rivers, gathering in one large branch of the Manych channel. On the eastern side of the valley there are almost no rivers, some water flows only in spring and autumn, in winter there is no hint of any movement. This part of the valley is more like a huge ravine, which during spring floods turns into a kind of swamp.

Rich and animal world of this beautiful corner of the planet. Often hunters and fishermen from nearby areas and areas come here to have a great time hunting or fishing. From the beginning of spring to late autumn you can see a wide variety of wild animals: hares, foxes, korsaks, by the way, hunting them often bears fruit. Especially many waterfowl in the Manych valley: geese, ducks, waders and many others.

Here you can also find birds that are listed in the Red Book and are protected by the Rostov Reserve: pink pelicans, black swan, eagle, black vulture, black-headed laugher.
