Temple of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon

Russia, Rostov-on-Don, Prosp. Sholokhov, 29 and

Description:

In Ostrovsky Park, which is located in Rostov, from the ruins of a former summer cinema, a temple has been recreated, which has been receiving believers for more than years.

This temple was renovated for the 10th anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies of the XX century - the Chernobyl disaster. And since then, an unquenchable lamp of memory has been burning in it, and prayers are offered for the health of the living and the repose of the deceased liquidators of the consequences of this terrible accident.

The idea of erecting this temple belongs to its rector, Archpriest Anatoly Komar, the candidate of Theology. This is the only Chernobyl temple in Russia, the rector of which, himself, is a witness of those terrible events in Chernobyl.
