Temple for All Saints

Rostov-on-Don

Description:

The All-Holy Church, also known as the Cemetery Church, was erected on September 8, 1864. A year later, the church burned down, but most of the utensils were saved and later transferred to the newly rebuilt church, which was consecrated on October 27, 1868.

Before the Great Patriotic War, the temple in the name of All Saints was closed, a workshop for the manufacture of ball bearings was located in its premises. But in 1942, the church was reopened to parishioners, it held divine services.

In the 60s of the XX century, an active campaign began, calling for the elimination of the church as an unnecessary structure. As a result, this monument of architecture of the XIX century was blown up and in 1967 the city Palace of Sports appeared in its place.
