Russia, Rostov region, Orel district, pos. Orlovsky, st. Pioneerskaya, 70
Description:
The Rostov State Reserve in the southeast of the Rostov region occupies part of the territories of the Orel and Repontnensky districts and the adjacent shores of the beautiful Lake Manych-Gudilo.
The wide steppe of the reserve has an indelible impression at all times of the year. In the spring, she pleases the eye with her carpets of the first flowers. In summer - the silk threads of the maw and the bird bazaars of the lake islands. In autumn, you do not want to say goodbye to beautiful cranes that gather in flocks, leaving their native places for the winter. And in winter, against the background of steppe snows, wild mustang horses rush with a beautiful walk, breaking the silence of frozen nature with a stomp.
The Rostovsky Reserve is of federal importance, it occupies more than 9.5 hectares of the Don steppe. Conventionally, the reserve is divided into four administrative areas: Ostrovsky, Starikovsky, Krasnopartisan, Gypsy-Khak.
Rare, unique flora and fauna were the reason for the creation of the reserve. Of particular value are wild tulips, fascinating with their innocence and beauty during flowering, and a wild maw listed in the Red Book. No less need protection and wild animals living in the steppes of the reserve.
