Monument in honor of pilots who fought near Rostov during the war
The monument is installed on the October highway, near the airport.
Description:
The monument was erected in 1972 at the burial place of the remains of Soviet pilots and is dedicated to their heroic actions during the battles for the city in 1941-1943. The monument is a MiG-17 fighter, mounted on a 25-meter pedestal, aimed at the sky.
A wide granite staircase leads to the pedestal, and a marble rectangle is installed next to it, on which words are carved reminiscent of the feat of the Don pilots. The monument is popular among residents of the city, especially among newlyweds on the day of marriage.
