Monument to the founders of the fortress of St. Dmitry Rostov

The monument to the founders of the fortress Dmitry Rostov reminds residents of Rostov of outstanding personalities who took part in the construction of the fortress, which played a strategic importance in the defense of the city.

The monument is a bronze sculptural composition consisting of five figures. The sculpture depicts: the builder of the fortress Alexander Rigelman, its first commandant Ivan Somov, Major General Danila Efremov with his adjutant and Cossack Vasily Khastatov. The monument is erected in honor of the 260th anniversary of the city, is a decoration of the city and perpetuates its glorious history.
