Protective Temple

The Old Pokrovsky temple is located in the very center of Rostov in Pokrovsky Square. It is a landmark of the city, its bright architectural monument, combining the Art Nouveau style with the classical Orthodox style.

Previously, several temples stood on this site at different times. The Old Pokrovsky temple was built here in 2005. The building of the temple impresses with its appearance and interior decoration. The height of the building is 30 meters, its snow-white walls are combined with a shining golden dome and seven columns. The entrance to the temple is decorated with mosaics, and the door is hand-carved. The interior of the temple is decorated with white marble walls, iconostasis, of the same white marble, blue vaults and granite floors of burgundy color.
