Tulipania Peninsula
Russia, Rostov region, Orel district, Rostov reserve
Description:
On Lake Manych-Gudilo in the Rostov region, there is a seemingly unremarkable peninsula. But with the arrival of spring, when nature comes to life, everything changes. From a nondescript piece of land, the peninsula turns into a magical carpet woven from thousands of colorful wild tulips. Hence the name of the peninsula - Tulipania.
Most tulips are the usual red color, but there are other shades: yellow, pink, and even black. Legend has it that once upon a time the bulbs of these flowers were brought to Europe, and they gave rise to many modern cultural varieties of this noble plant.
People come to see the flowering of tulips from all over Russia, and they say that even from abroad. You can see this fabulous picture only a few days a year at the end of April, when tulips bloom en masse.
