Flower Girl sculpture

Rostov-on-Don

Description:

The sculpture "Flower Girl" was installed in 2007 and made of bronze. A barefoot girl in a light dress with a flower in her hands sits near the entrance to the central city park named after Maxim Gorky (Big Garden, 45).

The statue managed not only to fall in love with citizens and guests of Rostov-on-Don, but also to acquire a couple of stories. According to one version, her prototype is a blind flower seller from the famous film “City Lights” with Charlie Chaplin. The same sculpture is sometimes called the “ice cream girl” because the flower in her hands is barely discernible from afar. There is another alternative name - "bronze girl with a living soul." You can look into her expressive eyes and see a new story.
