Orpheus sculpture in the fountain
Description:
In 1935, a philharmonic hall was opened in Rostov-on-Don, and in the same year a fountain was placed there, since it was not enough to make the appearance of the area as complete as possible.
The fountain was not very popular among the townspeople until the sculpture of the mythical singer Orpheus was installed on it.
It was the figure of Orpheus that became associated with the fountain among Rostovites, and this place acquired a household value. It is also symbolic that it is the image of this mythical musical hero that adorns next to the Philharmonic.
