Sreten Church
Description:
The first Sretenskaya church was built in the Horn Stan at the end of the XVII century. Over time, it was rebuilt several times and changed its location.
The present Sretensky temple is a monumental stone building. The church was built with the money of parishioners from 1902 to 1911, according to the project of Rostov architect G.N. Vasiliev. The beautiful three-domed church, made in the Russian style, did not last long - in 1935, worship services ceased in it and it began to be gradually destroyed.
In 1942, the church began to revive, it was gradually rebuilt and restored, but its former appearance changed significantly. There is currently a Sunday school at the temple.
