Description:

The central and main square of Rostov-on-Don is Theatre Square. The biggest events of the city take place here. City days, concerts, parades, fireworks - none of these celebrations bypasses the square.

The first thing you see when you get to the Theatre Square is a high (42 m) memorial made of copper covered with gold leaf, in honor of the liberation of the city from the Nazis. Everyone calls him Stella. It depicts the goddess Nika and a model of the Order of the Patriotic War.

The second attraction of the square is the building of the academic drama theater named after Gorky. Its miniature copy has been honored to be exhibited in the Museum of Architecture in England due to its unusual shape. The building of the theater fully corresponds to Soviet constructivism and has the appearance of a tractor!

Another architectural monument is the building of the North Caucasus Railway Administration, built in the early twentieth century and stands to the left of the Stela.

A little away from the theater there is a complex of fountains, one of which is presented in the form of four Atlanteans, which hold a dome over their heads.

There are many cafes on the square, in which you can sit comfortably, looking through large windows-windows, hurried citizens on their business.
