Gukov Local History Museum of Mining Labor

The museum is unique in its kind, the only one in the country that tells about the origin and development of coal production, about people who made their contribution to this difficult business. The local history museum was created on the basis of the school museum under the leadership of L.I. Mikulin. In 1965, it was inaugurated on Shakhtar Day and received its first visitors. Over the past 5 years, the museum, thanks to Director Sidnenko T.P., has achieved significant success in the development of the material and technical base, expanded its functions. In 1998, the museum received a new building. In 2000, it was renamed the Mining Labor Museum. Close communication with coal production, with the life of the miners obliges us to honor and pass on from generation to generation the heroism of the working days of miners.
