390006. Ryazan, st. Stubby, 60
Description:
The Annunciation Church in Ryazan was built in 1673. In 1744, a chapel dedicated to the holy martyr John the Warrior appeared in the temple. Ryazan philanthropist G.V. Ryumin was the trustee and head of this church in the early XIX century. In 1935, the temple was first handed over to the renovationists, and then it was closed.
In 1958, the temple was to be demolished as a building that was not an architectural monument. They managed to demolish part of the church bell tower, as well as the dome. In the 1990s, the church became active again. Restoration works were carried out, the temple was completely restored and consecrated. The interior of the church is being restored.
The church is a quadrangular building connected with a tent bell tower refectory temple and crowned with five gilded domes having an onion shape.
