Monument to A.S. Pushkin
Description:
Park sculpture depicting the great Russian poet, appeared in the square near the Palace of children’s creativity, probably at the same time as the opening of the Palace, that is, in 1957. There are reports that the monument was made in Leningrad, in the art workshop of park sculptures.
During the years of his stay in the garden of the children's institution, the sculpture lost its resemblance to the original, and it was almost impossible to understand who the sculptor portrayed in the distant 1950s. In this regard, it was decided to reconstruct the monument.
On June 6, 2004, the grand opening of the restored monument took place. The author of the restoration works is a Moscow sculptor-restorer, senior lecturer of the Sholokhov University Vladimir Alekseevich Vilkov, and the idea of renewal belonged to the head of the Pushkin Club of Ryazan, military builder E.N. Mazaev. Financial support was provided by the city administration and the city administration of public education. In 2006, work continued on the arrangement of the monument: the pedestal was restored, the fence was made, and in the new grandeur appeared young Pushkin with a goose feather in his hand.
