Monument to M.D. Skobelev

The monument to Mikhail Dmitrievich Skobelev, the famous Russian military commander, adjutant general and participant of the conquests in Central Asia of the Russian Empire and the Russian-Turkish war in 1877-1878, the liberator of Bulgaria, was opened in 1995, during the celebration of the 900th anniversary of the city of Ryazan. The name of Mikhail Dmitrievich is closely connected with the Ryazan land. Here he visited his estates, most often in the village of Spasskoe in the Ryazan province.

The monument was laid in 1993 and was installed for two years. In addition, the Skobelev Committee was created and works to this day, the president of which is Aviation General A.A. Leonov. In different cities of our country, Skobelev readings are held.
