Museum of Wooden Architecture named after V.P. Groshev

Ryazan region., Klepikovsky district, D. Lunkino

About the company:

The museum was founded in 1997 by Vladimir Pavlovich Groshev, professor, doctor of economics, former rector of the Plekhanov Academy, president of the Academy of Management and Market.

Vladimir Pavlovich was in love with the local places and quiet Meshchersky nature and founded the Interregional School of Masters in Lunkino, where young people could master local crafts. Wood in this region has always been the main craft material, so students and their mentors primarily worked with it. Soon the first art crafts appeared, which formed the basis of the current collection of the museum.

Today, the museum complex includes 3 buildings, an operating game complex "Meshcherskaya Tale", a recreation area, a park with sculptures, a souvenir shop, an ancient communal house, a mini-zoo and even a functioning church.

The museum has many exhibits that represent dozens of styles of wood carving, models made of cornoplasty - a type of work with a tree of natural form and other unique exhibits.

The main exhibition is located in 15 halls, which demonstrate:

- variety and features of different types of wood;

stages and methods of material processing;

tools with which processing is carried out.

Through the exhibits, which in the museum more than 3 thousand, visitors immerse themselves in the history of the region: get acquainted with the life of the Ryazan province, folk art crafts of the Ryazan region. For those who want to see modern decorative and applied art, the museum offers to get acquainted with the works of modern masters known throughout the country.

The game complex “Meshcherskaya Tale” is the result of a great work, the result of five All-Russian festivals of masters in garden and park sculpture.

On the territory adjacent to the museum, with an area of about 3 hectares, there is a park in which garden and park sculptures up to 6 meters high are located. These works were created by Russian and foreign masters.

On the territory of the museum stands the current Church of Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and Martyr Margarita. Here you can try yourself as a ringer.

In the mini-zoo live rabbits, chickens, pheasants and other cute animals that are happy to welcome big and small guests of the museum.

The museum does not only preserve historical exhibits, but also creates new and unique ones. At the museum there is a children's studio "Art processing of wood" in Spas-Klepika. Many exhibits in the museum are made by the hands of students of this studio. Classes for children are free of charge.
