Monument to Shurik and Lida
Description:
December 8, 2015 on the territory of Ryazan State University named after S.A. Yesenin (its old name is "Ryazan Pedagogical Institute") was opened a sculpture dedicated to Shurik and Lida - the heroes of the Soviet comedy "Operation "Y" and other adventures of Shurik".
Shurik and Lida sit on a bench and enthusiastically study notes without noticing each other. At the same time, on the bench, the authors of the monument specifically left another place so that everyone could sit down and take pictures with their favorite heroes of the film.
The authors of the composition are talented Ryazan sculptors Maxim Solomatin and Alexey Tsygankov, who have already made about ten architectural objects for the city. The material from which the monument is made is polyester resin.
In total, about 2 dozen different versions of this sculptural composition were developed, but the choice was given to the classical version, in which special attention is paid to small details. Thus, the expressions of the characters’ faces, their glances focused on summaries, hairstyles, clothes and shoes are extremely accurately conveyed.
The opening of the monument took place in the year of the celebration of the centenary of the RSU. Among the students of the university, a happy omen quickly formed: to successfully pass the exam or test, you need to rub the noses of Shurik and Lida.
