Museum-apartment of L. Laptsuya

Komsomolskaya Street, 40, Salekhard

About the company:

The museum was opened in 1994, and its exposition is dedicated to the Nenets writer L.V. Laptsoy, who was an honored worker of culture of the RSFSR. He showed himself as a patriot, trying to collect Nenets national folklore and preserve it in writing, so that the people did not forget their origins. He created a primer for Nenets schools, wrote a book for extracurricular reading in the Nenets language. In 1964 L.V. Laptsuy became a member of the Writers’ Union. The cultural and educational school of Salekhard bears the name of this writer, who did a lot to preserve the culture and language of his native land. The museum dedicated to him was created by the writer’s wife E.G. Susa, who carefully recreated the interior of his office. In addition to the exhibition related to the literary heritage of L. V. Laptsuya, the apartment also features a Nenets room, as well as a corner of nature. The collection of the museum includes household items by L. V. Laptsuya, photographs and documents, decorative art products, books on ethnography and books by the writer himself. The exhibition is mainly designed for children, but people of different ages come to the museum, wanting to learn more about the man who has done so much for the Nenets people. In addition, the museum hosts literary evenings and meetings of writers, as well as the so-called Laptsuev readings.
