Interactive program "Astronomy" (7-9 years)

Description:

Astronomy is a program for physicists and lyricists. The most complex patterns of the universe are subject to celestial mechanics. The colors of stars depend on their composition and temperature. The beauty of the starry sky obeys strict laws, in two hours we are going to get acquainted with the most important of them.

In two hours, your child:

  • Learn to look at the sky through the eyes of a scientist
  • Will understand how to explore cosmic bodies – from tiny meteorites to giant stars
  • Find out, arranged instruments for studying space - from astrolabe to orbital telescopes
  • Select a potentially suitable for colonization star system and exoplanets

Celestial Mechanics Laboratory

Let’s see how the heavenly bodies act on each other. To understand why the Earth does not fall on the Sun, and without the Moon would not have life, collect large-scale models and master the basics of celestial mechanics.

Meteorite Laboratory

Learn to distinguish comets, asteroids, meteors and meteorites from each other and from ordinary Earth rocks. Determine the age, features of the structure of meteorites and try to find traces of something alive in them.

Space radiation laboratory

Let's see what colors stars glow and why sometimes a single flash is enough to understand what a star is doing inside. We will understand how during the “astronomical detective” scientists decipher the properties of a star by its light.

Planet Laboratory

Find out what objects of the solar system visited people and probes. We analyze soil samples from different planets and satellites and understand what our descendants will choose as a second home.

FORMAT

The program involves 60 children who are divided into 4 teams of 15 participants. Each team undergoes scientific testing in 4 different laboratories. The program is completely interactive - each child performs experiments with his own hands.

The program is developed by young scientists and popularizers of science from Lomonosov Moscow State University. The head of the development team is Yaroslav Ivanov, a graduate of MSU, biophysicist. He is a regular author of programs for “smart cities”, including “Biological experiments”, “Great scientific discoveries”, “Scientific detective” and many others.

In order to make everyone more comfortable, we divide our programs into two age groups - 7-9 years and 10-14 years. The topics considered in different groups are the same, but children are always more comfortable in the environment of peers.

Parental programme

Let’s confuse astronomy and astrology. Let’s see what can save humanity. Gravitational waves, black holes, blue supergiants and white dwarfs will cease to be a random set of words.
