House-Museum of V.I. Lenin in Samara

Samara region, Samara, str. Leninskaya, 131-135

About the company:

The house-museum of V.I. Lenin in Samara is located on the territory of the former city merchant estate of the last quarter of the nineteenth century. In the house owned by the Samara merchant I. A. Rytikov, the Ulyanov family rented an apartment on the second floor from May 1890 to August 1893. In the Samara period, the worldview of V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin) was formed, a Marxist circle was created here with his active participation, the first theoretical works were written.

As a museum of historical and memorial profile, the Lenin House Museum in Samara has been functioning since January 3, 1940. To the 100th anniversary of the birth of V.I. Lenin (1970), on the second floor of the museum, the memorial and household atmosphere of the Ulyanovs’ apartment was restored, on the first, non-memorial floor, a scientific and documentary exposition dedicated to the Samara period of Lenin’s life was deployed.

Since 2016, the only project among the memorial Leninist museums of the country is being implemented here to include in the structure of the stationary exhibition portrait growth figures reproducing the images of members of the Ulyanov family of the Samara period of life: V.I. Ulyanov (Lenin), mother M.A. Ulyanova, sisters Anna and Maria Ulyanov, M.T. Elizarova. These exhibits are designed to revive a rather conservative museum space, create the so-called effect of presence, form an idea of the appearance of a person in the last quarter of the XIX century.

In the space of a specialized exposition and exhibition platform, shifting thematic exhibitions are held.
