About the company:

Samara Museum "Children's Art Gallery" is located on Kuibyshev Street, 139 in the ancient mansion of merchant Ivan Andreevich Te-Klodt - an architectural monument of the XIX century.

The gallery opened in 1990, its creator and permanent director, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation Nina Ievleva. The children's art gallery was created specifically for a child-viewer and a child-artist. But along with children's works, the MDKG exhibits paintings by professional artists, students, graduates of art schools and universities, exhibitions of traditional national cultures, folk art and crafts, various educational and development projects. For more than 20 years of history, the Gallery has held dozens of international exhibitions and festivals and stores more than 17,000 children's drawings from Russia, America, England, Japan, Germany, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Brazil and other countries.

In 2002, in the Children’s Art Gallery, the history of the “Exclusive Doll of the Klodt Mansion” began (the workshop of Olga Bakanova, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation). Since then, 8 collections have seen the light: “Carnival of Burgundy Fashion”, “European Renaissance in Costume”, “Baroque”, “Rococo”, “Ampire and Biedermeier”, “Eclectic and Art Nouveau”, “Venice Carnival” and “Costume of the Russian nobility of the pre-Petrine era of the XVI-XVII centuries”.

The traditional summer exhibitions of Klodt Mansion Exclusive Doll not only acquaint the audience with the authentic reproduction of the era in costume, but also create an architectural, historical and cultural environment around the collections. In recent years, the historical costume dolls were seen in 11 cities of the Samara region, Kazan, Moscow, and in 2009 in Venice in the Museum of Historical Costume Museo di Palazzo Mocenigo.

The most striking and interesting exhibition projects of recent years include: “The Little Prince”, “Symbols of War and Victory”, “Earth History in the Work of Children”, “Christmas Tales” (2010); “Incredible?” Obviously!, “Portrait of a Beautiful Lady” (2011); exhibition of “sincere” art “Near Rousseau and Pirosmani”, “Other Worlds” (2012).

The MDKG team created two collections of reliefs “Ancient World” and “Middle Ages” for blind, visually impaired and hard of hearing children within the framework of the city program “Samara for Children”. We are different, we are equal.” Each relief is accompanied by an audio comment, revealing its cultural description.

Currently, the gallery is a set of four different museums (the museum of children's creativity, an architectural monument and a museum of household culture of the late XIX-early XX centuries, a museum of decorative and applied arts, a garden-museum), to which are adjacent workshops for the development of children's fine arts and lecture halls.

Currently, the workshops work in the following areas:

Aesthetic development of children through creativity;

- academic painting, drawing and composition;

- architecture and design;

- pottery, pottery;

- ethnography;

- history of world art;

It has become traditional to hold various holidays and festivals on the territory of the museum and various venues of the city.
