Cinema Art Theatre

Nevsky Prospect 67

About the company:

The Art Theatre grew out of a very original entertainment institution called Biofon-Auxetophon, which opened in St. Petersburg in 1907. It worked according to some principles of the theater: every evening there were performances - the so-called "listening sessions of artists", replacing each other about every hour and a half. In one evening there were several such “acts”. But “theater” in the full sense of the word “Biophone” was difficult to call. 2 years later, the Saturn cinema appeared on the site of this institution. After that, the sign above the cinema changed twice - Saturn replaced Cinema to the masses, followed by a new one - Art. Since then, the shield itself, of course, changed, but its contents already remained the same. Over the years, the cinema has seen a lot, including the blockade of its city, but the demonstration of films in it almost did not stop. In its current form, Artist appeared in November 2005. Now it is rightfully one of the most modern film centers of St. Petersburg. Now in the "Artistic" there are 6 cinemas. Four small halls with 130 seats. All of them are equipped with comfortable seats with adjustable backrests and folding armrests. The latter are equipped with glasses for Pop-Corn. A special pride of the cinema is the 250-seat Premier Hall, which hosts film premieres and festivals. The decor of the hall consists of shots from classic films. In the VIP lounge, which can accommodate only 28 visitors, soft sofas for two will make you feel cozy and comfortable. There is also a cafe in this hall, and in front of each sofa there is a table with a waiter call button. In all the cinema halls installed modern sound reproduction equipment Dolby Digital and the prefix Dolby Digital - Surround EX. In the repertoire of the cinema "Art" a variety of films: Russian and foreign film hits, festival paintings designed for fans and connoisseurs of cinema. On the days of the premiere screenings in the lobby of the cinema there are evenings dedicated to the shown tapes. In the same hall there are bars and cafes for visitors.
