About the company:

The theater was founded in 1987 by Yuri Tomoshevsky, he embodied the idea of “one-artist theater”.

Poetic mono-performances immersed in the atmosphere of St. Petersburg literary and aristocratic collections of the early 20th century.

Subsequently, Viktor Minkov introduced a new model of the work of the theater of “state enterprise”, this is the first theater in Russia without a permanent troupe, where the Russian repertoire and Western contract theater are combined. For each new production, a new team gathers: actor, director, artist, all work under a temporary contract with the help of this technique, viewers can see leading Russian actors on one stage in the best performances of the best directors of the country.

To date, more than a hundred productions have been performed in the theater. The annual plan is at least four premiere performances. Many of the productions of “The Comedian’s Shelter” enjoy unconditional popularity, more than once received prestigious awards at theater festivals in Russia and abroad, such as the Higher Theater Prize of St. Petersburg “Golden Sophite”, the Higher Theater Prize of Russia “Golden Mask” and the St. Petersburg Theater Prize “Breakthrough”.
