Park Divo Island
m. Krestovsky Island. Address: Kemskaya str., 1a
About the company:
In the second half of the 18th century, alleys were laid on Krestovsky Island, diverging in different directions in the form of a five-pointed star. One of these rays, the Battery Road, divided the island into two almost equal parts. This composition has survived to this day, only the "rays" have become wider and have changed their names more than once. About the same years on Krestovsky Island was built a luxurious estate of its new owner, President of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences K. G. Razumovsky. Peasant settlements grew in the north of the island, middle-income townspeople settled in the east and various entertainment establishments arose, and in the west for a long time there was a “paradise for hunters” – forests very rich in game. In the early 19th century, the island was bought by Prince A. M. Beloselsky-Belozersky. The former Razumovsky estate was rebuilt and turned into an extensive palace and park ensemble. As for the recreation area on Krestovsky, now you can not only take a walk along the alleys, but also ride the most modern attractions, including the real "Russian slides" - recently part of the Primorsky Park is occupied by the entertainment complex "Divo Ostrov".
