Road of Life and Piskarev Cemetery

Description:

More than 80 years have passed since Leningrad was liberated from the fascist blockade, and the main role in saving the city was played by the Road of Life. We will see its main objects and visit the Piskarev Memorial Cemetery to remember those who did not live to see the victory.

As part of the tour, we will see the objects that are part of the grandiose memorial complex “Green Belt of Glory”. These are such monuments as the Flower of Life, Polutorka, Baltic Wings, Blockade Regulator, and mass graves, and “Oak and Laurel” near Rumbolovskaya Mountain.

We will make a stop at the Vaganovskoye descent, where columns of cars advanced to the Big Land and where now the memorial “Torn Ring” is located.

At the Ladoga Lake station, we will see the Swedish locomotive ESH-4375 Komsomolets, which was used on the Road of Life in 1941-1942.
