A trip along the Road of Life is an occasion to talk about the blockade of Leningrad. Our city has experienced the largest humanitarian disaster in human history. About a million civilians died within six months. Not soldiers going on a bayonet attack on the enemy, but ordinary citizens. Why did that happen? How did our great-grandfathers defend the city and not surrender it to the Germans? Their feat is primarily dedicated to the tour. The culmination of the trip will be a visit to the Museum of the Road of Life on Lake Ladoga. In addition, we will get acquainted with the estates of Priyutino, Ryabovo, Irinovka - that is, we will touch on pre-revolutionary history. Let's look at the recreation center "Lighthouse World".

On the way to Osinovets, where the Road of Life Museum is located, I will talk about the war and the blockade. I will tell you about the sights that have been encountered.

The first to leave St. Petersburg will be the Flower of Life memorial dedicated to the children who died in the blockade. Many people probably remember the story of Tanya Savicheva. The memorial is made in the form of leaflets from her diary.

The next point of the trip will be the Priyutino estate. Usually, the museum in the manor house we do not visit, just go around it. This is enough to talk about the owners of the estate, as well as their guests. Here were Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Glinka, Alexander Griboyedov, Vasily Zhukovsky. But the most interesting thing in Priyutino is to tell about Ivan Andreevich Krylov, who wrote part of his famous fables here.

Then our way lies through Vsevolozhsk - the district center of the Leningrad region. Here you can see the museum "House of aviators", the remains of the Ryabovo estate, a monument to "half aviator". As well as a whole complex of monuments dedicated not only to the war, but also to the liquidators of the Chernobyl disaster, as well as the relatively recent plane crash - the death of a plane with tourists over Egypt. Here is the old cemetery, where the founders of the city Pavel Alexandrovich and Elena Vasilievna Vsevolozhsky rest.

The Road of Life will lead us through Irinivka, where the main manor house of Baron Corff built in the early XX century is located. Now it has a branch of the local clinic, but the facades as a whole have retained their historical appearance. The remains of the landscape park adjoin the house. A little further away is a monument of nature - cherry oak, which is almost 200 years old.

When the highway hits Lake Ladoga, we will stop and approach the monument "Ruptured Ring". We will see the very place where cars with evacuated Leningraders and cargo went from land to the ice of Lake Ladoga.

In nearby Osinovets is the Museum of the Road of Life. Millions of rubles of the Ministry of Defense and the soul of the creator of the exposition, who collected artifacts from the bottom of Ladoga, were invested in it. These are not fakes, but real objects that people used during the war. Parts of sunken ships. In the yard there is a model of a transport aircraft, Ladoga tugs, and in the covered pavilions - restored equipment. I will pay special attention to the opportunity to experience the interactive “cab of a half-truck”, where you feel like a truck driver on the Road of Life.

Nearby is the recreation center "World of lighthouses". Near one of the highest lighthouses in Europe in summer, the apple has nowhere to fall - a clean, beautiful and comfortable beach is used by hundreds of holidaymakers. There is also a restaurant where we can have lunch after visiting the museum. In winter, of course, the beach is empty. But the view of Lake Ladoga in good weather is also impressive.

At the end of the tour we will pay attention to the unusual station of the station "Lake Ladoga", standing near the locomotive. From here we will go home to Petersburg.
