EXCURSION TO ORANIENBAUM

We invite you to visit an amazing place – Oranienbaum.

Like Peterhof, this palace and park ensemble is located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. At the beginning of the XVIII century it belonged to A.D. Menshikov, the governor of St. Petersburg, for whom the Great Menshikov Palace was built. This is a beautiful example of Peter's Baroque. In its splendor, it was only slightly inferior to the Grand Peterhof Palace.

Later, for another owner - Peter III, Peterstadt (funny fortress) was built here. And in the second half of the XVIII century, the estate passes to Catherine II. For her, the ensemble Own dacha is being built - a sample of the Rococo style.

The uniqueness of Oranienbaum is that its territory was not occupied during the Second World War, so all buildings have survived to this day in their original form, unlike other country residences near St. Petersburg (Peterhof, Tsarskoye Selo, Pavlovsk, Gatchina). This is its special cultural and historical value.

During the tour you will get acquainted with the history of Oranienbaum and the surrounding territories, accompanied by a guide you will walk through one of the first regular parks in Russia - the Lower Garden.
