Hermitage. Main headquarters

The General Staff Building opened its doors to visitors in 2014. It was here that the collections of impressionists, post-impressionists, masterpieces of the Fabergé jewelry house, the collection of French art of the XIX century, the collection of European and American art of the twentieth century were moved from the Winter Palace. The interiors of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were restored.

The Hermitage State Museum owns the eastern wing of the Main Staff building. After a large-scale reconstruction, the building of the Main Staff is a unique fusion of historical buildings and modern museum space. On the fourth floor of the building is the legendary Hermitage collection of Impressionists and Post-Impressionists. It is the fourth floor of the Main Staff that we will focus on, but we will not ignore the rest of the expositions of the Main Staff.
