You will find a fascinating trip to the "city of fountains", so sometimes called Peterhof. Peterhof is a ceremonial, summer, seaside, country imperial residence, a grandiose triumphal monument of Russia in honor of the victory over the Swedes in the Northern War and the liberation of the Baltic Sea. For the first time the name Peterhof is mentioned in the Hiking Journal of Peter 1 September 13, 1705. On this day, the two-masted fourteen-gun ship schnyav "Munker" on the way from Kronstadt to St. Petersburg anchored against a small manor on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, which was named in the Dutch manner Peterhof "Peter Court".
