pushkin - Tsar's Village
Description:
Around St. Petersburg there are gardens, parks, noble estates, grand ducal palaces and imperial residences, which is why the suburbs of St. Petersburg are often called a pearl necklace. One of the largest pearls is the summer, ceremonial, country imperial residence - the Tsarskoye Village. In the Tsarskoye village, drowning in the greenery of the park on the top of the hill with a fabulous castle resembling an expensive box rises the Catherine Palace - a magnificent example of domestic baroque. The luxury of the decoration of the Great Hall and the Golden Enfilade of the ceremonial rooms are admired, among which is the world-famous Amber Room, revived to a new life. The work of A. S. Pushkin is inextricably linked with the Tsarsky village, where the future poet was brought up in the Imperial Lyceum. In 1937, to commemorate the centenary of the tragic death of the poet, the city was named after him.
