Kronstadt

Why is it worth visiting Kronstadt? For many years Kronstadt was a closed city, until 1996. Although St. Petersburg was built as the sea capital of Russia, the sea atmosphere is not felt much in St. Petersburg, especially in the center, far from the sea. Kronstadt is blown through the sea winds, there are many monuments dedicated to famous sailors and ships. Already the road there is unique in its own way, it passes through the dam and it seems that the car hovers over the sea. And part of the route is laid under the seabed. Magnificent views of the once formidable forts and large ships sailing towards St. Petersburg. Nowhere in Russia are there such pavements lined with patterned cast-iron checkers, nowhere in Russia is there such an amazing structure as the Petrovsky dock, designed to repair ships in the 18th century. Also unique is the Kronstadt footstock and the magnificent Sea Cathedral, which served as a kind of lighthouse. An indescribable romantic atmosphere envelops this small city, which was of great importance in the history of Russia. And, of course, during the tour we are talking about one of the most tragic episodes in the history of Russia, the Kronstadt uprising of 1921.
