"Leningrad during the Second World War" in the Rumyantsev Palace
Description:
One of the most interesting exhibitions in the Rumyantsev mansion is the exposition that opened on the 20th anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad. This is the largest “blockade” exhibition of the city, occupying 11 halls and numbering more than 2000 exhibits.
Thanks to the full-scale museum exposition, we will be able to touch on many aspects related to the siege of Leningrad.
Moving through the halls, we will restore the chronology of events: from the very beginning of the war, when the city was just preparing for a meeting with the enemy, through the tragic events of the winter of the 41-42 years with stopped transport, air raids and bombings, the card system, hunger and abnormal cold, but at the same time the heroism of Leningrad, the efforts of the authorities and the success of the army to the complete liberation of Leningrad.
